welcome home beautiful
"...I just thought you were better than this."
"I suggest you lower your expectations!"
-- Hyzenthlay and Lucy, Satellite City #16, 'Wisdom'
Welcome to Firefly Cafe, my little island in the endless dreaming sea that is the Wired, hopefully a place where those seeking the LAIN-touched wilds of Web 1.0 can sit, have a lovely coffee (or tea, your waitress doesn't judge), and indulge in their own innate creativity, freedom, and brilliance. Yes, I do mean you. ♥ This is just the website of a sensitive little seabunny who bruises if someone so much as looks askance at her, but it's also a middle finger to the corporate mess that our internet has become. I hope you enjoy your stay.
bits & pieces (& Ippi)
bits & pieces
current status, 3/12/2019, 8:55AMPM - realised I have no intention of keeping up the log, so I sent it the way of the dodo. This semester (half semester, I guess) is really doing a number on me. I miss being creative and I miss having the time to be creative...I'm more than halfway through now, so might as well keep going until the end.
current status, 24/11/2019, 5:14PM - my summer semester at uni began last week, and will continue until the end of January (with a short break for all that business with the holly and the jolly and so forth), so there may be a dearth of updates for a while...or there may not, who knows? I'll try to keep the log going as long as I can, but I won't note it here on the index when I update that, so just watch that page, I suppose!
archived status, 8/11/2019, 12:ishPM - added Ippi up there, messed around with the index a little, and made the layout a little more tolerable for mobile users.
archived status, 6/11/2019, 8:59AM - another new Cliqued member! ♥ Holy crap I feel like I'm 13 again, hahaha. Thanks for joining, Kara!
archived status, 5/11/2019, 3:20PM - first new member who isn't me at Cliqued! I'm off to stan LOONA now, bye. (Writing? What's that?) Also, the site is now responsive! Thank you for your patience, mobile viewers. Sorry everything was so squashed for such a time D:
archived status, 3/11/2019, 10:51PM - and here we have a fully functional site! Ah, I'm so relieved. I put off writing all day to code, and while that's hardly good authorly behaviour...it was good webmasterly behaviour :D I'll have a responsive stylesheet done ASAP, but I really need to seriously do some writing...and some sleeping. Curse the Dreaded Lurgy.
archived status, 2/11/2019, 9:35PM - SEPTEMBER CITY LIVES. Thank frog T__T. Now I'll start working on this little slice of the Wired. Yay!
archived status, 2/11/2019 11:12AM - never heard back from Neocities (but the problem resolved itself when I changed by username anyway, so... ???? PROFIT!). STILL waiting to hear back from my other hosting service regarding WTF is going on with September.City's SLL certificates not resolving (I...pay $170AUD a year for this kind of support? Yeah, I do...>:/) so I don't know when my writing site will be back up, sigh. But in the meantime, I'm doing the 2019 NaNo, so you can follow me on there should you wish! :D Also, I downloaded the best distraction-free writer -- FocusWriter, which deals in rich text. THANK GOSH. (I'm not the only one who despaired to upon finding out that their beautiful new distraction-free editor only worked with plaintext, right?).
New layout and full content coming soon~ Lemme just get a few words down and I'll put on my codeslinger hat again...
